Blog Worthy

Well, I had a very eventful day.  I am on vacation at my dads this week.  I feel it is important to share.

Let me start by saying that when I had this surgery I promised myself I would get back to the girl who would try anything. I had been hiding behind my weight for too long. That being said I tried many things today. Some were fun. Some failed.

I started my day off at the water park with my 3 sisters. They are all adorable and skinny and look cute in a swim suite.  I use to be self conscious around them. But I also decided to let that go. It really feels good to let it go. I know they love me for me.

The kids wanted to go down water slides,  so I went with them. The first one was great!  Loved the feeling of doing something I haven't do in a long time.  The second one did me in. My fat but (while thinner than last summer) doesn't fit well in a water slide tube. I fell out, slammed my head into the wall and broke my sun glasses.  The visit ended short with thunderstorms. But all in all the day was great. I love being with my sisters and all the kids.

Back at dads we ate dinner and ventured outside. The girls wanted to ride horses. Dad and my hubby were mowing. So I called the horses up. There are 4 of them. Caught the easy one. Got her saddled and sent my oldest off to ride. One of the horses is a big pet. She decided to follow me around and beg for attention. While giving in to her she stood on my foot. OUCH. Caught number 2. While getting her saddle the big pet pushed open the gate and let herself and horse 4 out.  So then I caught and tied up all 4 horses. I was sweated wet and ready to walk away. But I didn't.  Got horse 2 saddled with dads help.  Got to go for a ride with my daughter. Worth it!

This is where I should have stopped.  I decided I wanted to go for an evening ride with my hubby. Got horse 3 saddled. She is a nice horse but HATES people actually getting on her. I rode her in March with NO issue. We seemed to work well together. Now, please keep in mind my short legs and large rear make it hard to hike my body up onto the saddle. I walked the horse over to the end of the flat bed trailer and had dad hold her. I put my foot in the stirrup and up I went. Before I knew it I was laying on the ground rolling out of the way of a 1500 pound horse about to fall on me.

Dad is not pleased. I've got a bruise on my stomach where I hit the saddle horn. It is just above my port. I am pretty sure I will hurt tomorrow.

Now, all this to say I am finding my confidence again with each pound I lose. This this the cowgirl I use to be. Not afraid of anything and giving my dad grey hairs.

This picture was from march when I was able to get on!
